What you can do by telehealth
You’ll see MJ Basilio, Principal Psychologist, for every session, online or in the clinic.
Adult ADHD assessment
Fully online. Questionnaires, interviews and feedback by video, with a strengths-based report.
About ADHD assessments →Adult autism assessment
Fully online, using the MIGDAS-2, a respectful, conversation-based approach.
About autism assessments →Combined AuDHD assessment
Wondering about both? One online assessment looks at ADHD and autism together.
About AuDHD assessments →Therapy & support
Neuro-affirming therapy for anxiety, burnout, masking and more. EMDR by telehealth is possible for some people; we’ll talk it through with you.
About neuro-affirming therapy →Assessing a child or teen? Children’s and teens’ assessments include testing, such as IQ testing or the ADOS-2, at our Wahroonga clinic. Ask us which parts can happen online. Cognitive and educational testing is also done in person.
Why telehealth can feel easier
Some people prefer the clinic. Others find home is where they can think most clearly. Both are welcome.
Your own sensory space
Your lighting, your temperature, your chair. No waiting room, no unfamiliar sounds.
No travel or parking
No rushing to get somewhere on time, and nothing to recover from on the way home.
Comfort close by
Fidgets, a weighted blanket, a pet nearby or a cup of tea. Whatever helps you settle.
Camera on or off
For therapy, you choose. Some parts of an assessment need video, and we’ll tell you which ones beforehand.
Write instead of talk
Send notes before your session, or take your time to write your answers down.
Breaks whenever you need
Pause, move around or step away for a moment. Just let us know.
How an online adult assessment works
We explain each step before it happens. You can ask questions or for adjustments at any point.
Start with a chat

You complete forms about your history and current experiences through our secure practice system. Someone who knows you well may be asked to complete some too.Video interviews
Conversations about your life, strengths and challenges, with breaks built in.Feedback and report
A video feedback session, then a written report with practical recommendations, usually within 4 weeks of your final session.
Getting set up
- A phone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone

- A steady internet connection, and headphones if they help
- We’ll send you a secure link before each appointment
- Keep your phone nearby in case the connection drops
Please don’t send health details by email. If we need clinical information, we’ll send you a secure form.

Questions about telehealth
Can I have telehealth if I live outside NSW?
Yes. Psychologists are registered nationally with AHPRA, so we can see adults by telehealth anywhere in Australia.
Can my child be assessed online?
Children’s and teens’ assessments include testing at our Wahroonga clinic, such as IQ testing or the ADOS-2. Some appointments may be possible online. Ask us and we’ll explain what each part involves.
See our support for children and teens.
Do I need a referral?
No, you don’t need a referral for an assessment or to book therapy. To claim a Medicare rebate for therapy, you’ll need a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP first.
Can I claim Medicare for an online assessment?
Medicare rebates for assessments are limited. Please see the ADHD and autism assessments page for details, or ask us on a free call.
Do I need to have my camera on?
For therapy, it’s your choice. For assessments, some parts need video so we can talk together properly. We’ll tell you which ones before we start.
Can EMDR be done by telehealth?
For some people, yes. It depends on what you’re working on and what feels safe for you. We’ll talk it through together before deciding. Read more about EMDR therapy.
Can you prescribe ADHD medication after an online assessment?
No. Psychologists don’t prescribe medication. With your permission, your report can be shared with your GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist if you’d like to explore medication.
Can I switch between telehealth and the clinic?
Yes. Many people mix both. You’ll see the same psychologist either way, at our clinic at Suite 4 & 5, 5 Redleaf Avenue, Wahroonga.
