Hi, I’m MJ Basilio.
I’m a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed psychologist and the founder of Psychcare Clinic in Wahroonga, on Sydney’s Upper North Shore. I support children, teens, adults and families who are ready to find more ease, resilience and joy.
“As a neurodivergent woman myself, I bring a dual perspective to my practice. True therapy isn’t about ‘fixing’ your brain. It’s about creating a life that works with it.”
I work as a solo practitioner, so your care is with me from your first appointment onwards, in person in Wahroonga or by telehealth.

Therapy and supportExperience
I’ve spent more than 20 years supporting individuals and families, and more than 10 years as a psychologist.
Before becoming a psychologist, I worked in disability services and in government roles in child protection, out-of-home care and risk assessment. That background shapes the insight, empathy and practical understanding I bring to every session.
My therapy draws on EMDR, CBT, ACT, DBT skills and psychodynamic therapy, including the Conversational Model, chosen with you to suit your goals. I also work with children and teens and their families.
