Neuro-Affirming Therapy in Wahroonga

Psychcare offers neuro-affirming therapy in Wahroonga, across the North Shore and by telehealth. We see autism and ADHD as natural variations in how people think, feel and experience the world. Therapy here isn’t about changing who you are. It’s about understanding how your brain works, easing what feels hard, and building a life that fits you.

Our approach

Three ideas guide every session.

Person-centred

Your challenges are real

We take what you’re facing seriously, and work with you to find wellbeing without trying to “fix” your neurotype.

Neurodiversity-affirming

Self-acceptance

Together we make sense of your thinking style and build personalised strategies that draw on your strengths.

Inclusive

Come as you are

You’re welcome to show up as your authentic self. We listen to your lived experience and shape therapy around your needs, including sensory and communication preferences.

How we work

Sessions go at your pace. Just let us know what helps, such as movement breaks, written check-ins, or meeting by telehealth.

We draw on evidence-based therapies, chosen with you to suit your goals:

  • Psychodynamic therapy, including the Conversational Model, for understanding patterns and relationships
  • EMDR for trauma and painful memories. Learn more about EMDR therapy
  • ACT and CBT for anxiety, stress and big feelings
  • DBT skills for emotional regulation
