Provisional psychologists

Structured supervision for interns in the 5+1 internship program, and for those completing the 4+2 pathway. We help you plan, track and document your progress towards general registration.

Registered psychologists

Ongoing supervision and case consultation to grow your confidence and skills. Peer consultation can count towards the 10 hours required within your 30 hours of annual CPD.[2]

Group supervision

Small-group sessions for case discussion and shared learning. A supportive, cost-effective option for early-career psychologists and practice teams.

What supervision can cover

Good supervision is a safe, reflective space. It’s where you can bring hard cases, think through ethical questions and look after yourself as a clinician.

  • Case consultation. Formulation, treatment planning and what to do when you feel stuck.
  • Ethics and conduct. Applying the Psychology Board’s Code of conduct, which took effect on 1 December 2025.[3]

Your supervisor: MJ Basilio

MJ is the Principal Psychologist at Psychcare Clinic and a Psychology Board Approved Supervisor. She has more than 10 years’ experience as a psychologist, and more than 20 years supporting individuals and families.

Her supervision is warm, practical and collaborative. She draws on her work in neuro-affirming assessment, trauma-informed therapy and culturally responsive care, including her perspective as a Filipino-Australian psychologist.

  1. Introductory chatA short, free conversation about your goals, stage of registration and what you need from supervision.
  2. Agreement and planWe agree on goals, frequency and format, and set up a written supervision agreement.
  3. Regular sessionsIn person in Wahroonga or online. Bring cases, questions and reflections.
  4. Records and sign-offWe keep clear records and complete the documentation your pathway requires.

We work with schools, health practices and workplaces to build understanding and support wellbeing. Sessions are tailored to your team, and can be delivered at your workplace, in Wahroonga or online.

Frequently asked questions

Is MJ a Board-approved supervisor?

Yes. MJ is a Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor, so she can supervise provisional psychologists working towards general registration.

Do you supervise interns in the 5+1 and 4+2 programs?

Yes. We supervise interns in the 5+1 internship program. The 4+2 program closed to new applicants on 30 June 2022, and we also support interns who are still completing it.[1]

Can supervision be done online?

Yes. Sessions can be in person in Wahroonga or by secure video. For provisional psychologists, we’ll make sure the format meets the Board’s requirements for your program.

Does supervision count towards my CPD?

For registered psychologists, supervision can count as peer consultation. The Board requires at least 10 hours of peer consultation within your 30 hours of CPD each year.[2]

How much does supervision cost?

Fees depend on whether supervision is individual or group, and how often we meet. Email us for current fees. Organisational training and consulting are quoted to suit your needs.

Can you train our staff at our workplace?

Yes. We can come to your school, practice or workplace, host sessions in Wahroonga, or deliver training online.
