Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Initial Consultation and Assessment fee?
The Initial Consultation fee ($315.00) is used to begin a course of ongoing therapy. The fee for a Comprehensive Assessment (ADHD, Autism, etc.) is a separate, one-time package cost that replaces the initial consultation fee and covers all hours required for testing, report writing, and feedback.
What is the Medicare Rebate for Psychological Therapy?
If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate. The current rebate covers a portion of the fee, leaving an out-of-pocket gap. Please check our Fees page for current rates.
Can I get a Medicare rebate for a Specialised Assessment?
Generally, Medicare rebates for assessments (like ADHD/educational testing) are limited. Some rebates may apply if referred by a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist for specific conditions (like Autism under age 25). We recommend checking with your specialist.
Do I need a referral to book?
You do not need a referral to book a private appointment. However, to claim a rebate from Medicare, you will need a valid referral letter and Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or Paediatrician.
